Position Summary:

We are looking for a high energy, personable, qualified, and competent safety officer who will be responsible for the health and safety of staff in the workplace. The safety officer will compile safety programs and standardize them to remain consistent, as well as share best practice techniques at staff meetings.

To ensure success as a safety officer, you must stay updated with the latest trends in health and safety, and consistently implement these practices in the workplace. A top-notch safety professional will maintain compliance with all safety regulations and ensure that every member of staff complies with regular standards.


  • Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments
  • Collaborate with management to develop an emergency action plan and serve as primary contact for project site incident and injury notification, investigation, and case management
  • Conduct safety training sessions for new and current staff
  • Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices
  • Review current safety procedures to find areas that need improvement
  • Implement and maintain health and safety standards
  • Standardize health and safety programs to remain consistent
  • Promote safety initiatives


  • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience preferred
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA 30
  • Experience with GM and Ford safety processes and procedures, preferred
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications
  • Effective communication skills
  • OSHA 500
  • Min of 5-years’ experience in industrial contracting safety
  • Certified to train employees (manlift, confined space, lockout)
  • Familiar with PTP’s and PTA’s
  • Ability to travel (25%)
