Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the service department, provide daily guidance and support to direct reports.
  • Improve processes working with management that improve efficiency & organization as needed
  • Ensure maintenance garage is clean and kept in professional working order
  • Adhere periodic maintenance plan for service intervals and guidelines
  • Enter repair orders into service management system, determine if the repair needs immediate attention and will require downtime, or if it can be scheduled to come back at a later date
  • Prioritize work orders by order of importance
  • Assign work orders to the proper technician 
  • Communicate large, expensive repair costs with GM
  • Order parts based on repair diagnosis report from service team, obtain multiple parts quotes to ensure competitive pricing
  • Communicate with dispatch on repair timelines as needed when the matter becomes urgent
  • Manage annual inspection compliance & reporting on various assets
  • Purchasing of fleet vehicles to expand or enhance our fleet working directly with management
  • Manage fleet vehicle licensing and registration
  • Maintain master asset list, updating as needed and communicate closely with finance team
  • Review and file DVIR reports for accuracy and compliance

Requirements:

  • Automotive & Heavy-Duty mechanical background experience
  • Management experience in a fleet maintenance area preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of operating of Microsoft office programs
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail
